Avery went to the Neurologist yesterday! She had a fun time......I was exhausted when we left!
She was so busy. We usually have to wait at least an hour and a half for the doctor, sometimes 2 hours. They are not the best running on time. I don't think doctors realize how hard it is to entertain a baby in a small room with no child friendly features at all. I would rather sit in the waiting room for 2 hours than be put in a small patient room for so long.
Anyways, Avery had no problem with the delay. She opened every cabinet and drawer over and over again and with every open......came a slam shut! :) She walked down the hallway outside the room into empty patient rooms. She quietly watched the little boy across the hall as she hid behind my leg. She got up and down on the doctor's scales more times than I can count. She pointed and got excited about the picture of the doggy hanging in the hallway. She would run to the picture of the dog and then turn around and try her best to tell me what she thought about the doggy! She is so funny and so adorable and she keeps me very busy!
Avery got a good report, and I am very thankful for that. Her head is still growing but it has slowed down, which means she is slowly growing into her head.....if that makes sense. The doctor wants her to have speech therapy. Not because she is alarmed, but simply because she can. She is up to date with single words, but technically she is behind with 2 word phrases. Of course every child is different and some kids talk later than others, so the doctor is not worried at all. She just feels that we might as well take advantage of the therapy Avery is entitled to have because she was premature. So we will check with our insurance and go from there. She does not have to go back to the Neurologist until her corrected 2nd Birthday, which is March.15!
Thanks to everyone who continues to lift Avery up in prayer!
