New York Crew 2009!

FBC Katy's student team came up this past week on mission to Crossroads. There were 15 in all, including adults. They worked so hard. They were a very special group, and we really loved having them here, and hated to see them go. Emma always loves when mission teams come here. But, she especially loved this group. They gave her so much love and attention, especially on her birthday. We went over to Acts Cafe for dinner as usual, because our friend Bryan was the chef that week, and he is an amazing cook! A few times watching him felt like I was on one of those tv cooking shows! Anyways, the group had decorated with at least 30 pink and purple balloons in these beautiful bouquets all around the room. As Emma entered, they sang happy birthday to her. She was beaming! I think she was more impressed and felt more special at that moment than she did an hour earlier at her big party with all her classmates.
She truly felt so much love. They bought her a really cool indoor hopscotch game, a necklace, floam, which by the way is ALL OVER THE HOUSE NOW and her clothes!! :) guys, and an adorable tiger stuffed animal to remind her of them, because the mascot for the Katy highschool is a tiger. Our family is so blessed to know people like them and to be able to serve the Lord together! Two of their students, Hannah and Jessica, are interning for Crossroads 6 weeks this summer and they are living with us! They are amazing! I will write more about them later!
